Friends & Family!
Posted on: October 26, 2011
It’s that time of year! Friends & Family sales are in full swing at Sephora & Ulta! I always use this time to stock up on perennial favorites or try something I’ve been curious about.
Sephora has changed it up this year and instead of a universal code you can use multiple times, go here to enter your email for a one time use code. Sale ends 11/2.
Ulta is running their Friends & Family through 10/29. I’m going to be using this coupon to stock up on one of my favorite nail polishes, Butter London!
What faves or new products are you going to purchase with your F&F?
Covetable, Affordable

Ooh, looky what I saw in today’s LA Times! A truly adorable bag from The Original Satchel Store. They have a multitude of colors but this pink one caught my eye:
Small, medium, large for $122, $134, $140, respectively. That’s so friggin’ cheap for this kind of quality! You can even get it monogrammed with your initials. *Drool* This could be my perfect bag for fall.

This is a cross-post by Chris.
I have oily lids. No, really. Every eyeliner I’ve ever owned since 1990 has slid off and landed on my bottom lid, making me look like a raccoon and idiot. Then I learned about Bobbi Brown’s pot eyeliner which was awesome, but you had to use a small eyeliner brush and water with it. Then my FFAB gals introduced me to the Japanese One-Day Tattoo Eyeliner – AWESOME. It never bled, dripped, melted or anything. I mean, this was literally like a permanent marker.
The only negative? It only comes in black.
Cut to a visit to Sephora last week with my coworker ClayahMary. We met Adrienne (sp?) from Urban Decay who was visiting the Santa Monica store. She showed us their liquid eyeliner in the funny-shaped pot.
This. sh*t. is. BOMB. (Translation: #awesomesauce!)
This stuff stayed on for hours. HOURS. The pigment is bold and shimmery. Since I already had my black eyeliner on, Adrienne just put Radium (blue shimmer) right on top. Close up, you could tell I was wearing shimmery blue eyeliner, but far away, my eyes just looked lined. At the end of the day, I used soap and water to remove and that was that.
Best of all? They are half-price on the Urban Decay website! Hurry up and pick them up!
ClayahMary ordered the dark green (Minx); I ordered the blue (Radium) and black shimmer (Oil Slick).
Here are some untouched photos from my HTC EVO:

Subtle, right? Totally a keeper.
Feelgoodz flip flops
Posted on: July 15, 2011
I bought a pair of Feelgoodz at the Whole Foods on Maui a few weeks ago and I love them! I was at first sold by the cute color combination (see pic) but then I learned that there’s more to these flip flops than mere looks. Here’s a little blurb on their website about their company and products:
“Feelgoodz Flip Flops are the most comfortable and natural rubber flops you will ever wear! Made of breathable, 100% natural rubber, Feelgoodz flip-flops for women, men and children mold to the shape of your foot and add a spring to your step.
Not only will your feet be at ultimate ease, you will feel great knowing your sandals and flip-flops are 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Feelgoodz Flops enliven lighten your stride while limiting your environmental footprint.”
Sounds pretty good, and they also have a flip flop recycling program where you can earn points toward a pair of Feelgoodz. So I’ve been wearing them almost nonstop for a few weeks and I really love them. From someone who lives in flip flops 9 months out of the year it’s pretty tall praise. They’re worth a look if you’re in the market for products you like to feel good about.

this post is dedicated to nancy who found these on amazon for a price that’s as cheap as chips.
much to my chagrin, the greys are sold out in my size so i ‘settled’ on the black mary janes a couple weeks ago. i’m not sure if the boys are loving the shoe but heck, at least 5 girls have complimented me on ‘how cute’ (why is ‘cute’ the most over-used adjective amongst us?) they are. at the end of the day my toes feel a bit pinched but looking good usually comes at a price. and for ~$40, i’d pick these up in every colour… if. only. they. still. came. in. my. size.
and don’t hate but these have turned out to be more wearable and comfortable than the PALI sandals the FFABs all own. sadly, the PALI sandal is cutting into the back of my leg, a few inches above my ankles. /small tear/
anyway, i digress. these MJs are comin’ with me this week to vegas.

DV Pali wedge sandal – Part Deux

The shoe that started this blog… the DV by Dolce Vita wedge sandal. About half of us FFAB gals bought the same shoe in different colors and sizes. I bought the Pali in Natural in a size 7. It was a snug fit at first, but I ended up wearing it all day at the office, walking to the library, and it helped stretch out the leather a little. It’s now a perfect fit and one of my favorite pairs of spring/summer shoes this year.
These shoes go with many things in my closet. I wasn’t a big fan of natural/light-colored shoes… until now. They’re perfect for Southern California weather. They practically match my skin tone, which is ironic. I’ve worn these shoes with skinny jeans, skinny cargos, my favorite purple skirt, a light blue skirt, and skinny black pants. They’re tall enough but not so tall that they’re uncomfortable to walk in. I’ve walked over a mile in these shoes in a day, and the only thing that bugs after an 8-hour day is that my ring toe on my left foot begins to get a skinrub. So… note to self: No more 8-hour walking sprees.
One more small note – the zippers make a little tinkle noise. When I wear these at the office, I sometimes feel like a cat with a bell on. People know I’m walking by with these wedges. One of the other FFAB gals has felt the same way. Otherwise, this was a total #winning purchase.
Two thumbs up from this FFAB gal!
